THE RESTAURANT The French second empire style landmark today houses one of Vermont's exceptional restaurants. The unpretentious atmosphere reflects both the professional experience and hospitable personalities of the Schönbächler's. The three dining rooms are located on the first floor and are as quaint and charming as they come. The restaurant is open everyday from 5:30 pm except Monday's; and year-a-round expect for the two weeks before Thanksgiving. On Sunday's the gourmet brunch starts at 10 am. Diners parade through the kitchen and emerge with tailor-made, hot sumptuous dishes, accompanied by samplings of dozens of cold specialties, such as salads, French lentils, pastas, curried rice, pickled beets and carrots and laden with cakes, cheeses, country breads and fresh fruit.
